England 05/04/2013 – Rising fuel bills are making UK builders more aware of the need to insulate their buildings.
UK roofing suppliers have seen interest in insulated roofing materials rise steadily over the past five or six years. This coincides with drastic rises in people’s fuel bills. As a result, many in the industry believe that interest in insulated roofing material is mainly increasing because of rising fuel bills. Understandably, people are looking for ways to reduce these bills, or at least keep them at current levels.
This increased interest in insulated roofing materials is industry wide. It is not just manufacturers of traditional roofing materials, such as tiles, who that have seen this increase in interest.
Sheet roof manufacturers have also seen an increase in interest. The majority of their customers build commercial buildings or are replacing roofs on outhouses, factories and warehouses. Most are businesses or builders that build commercial buildings. For these customers fuel economy is vital. Fuel bills for large commercial buildings are significant, so saving even a small amount of fuel can have a big impact on a company’s overheads.
A well-insulated building is good for business in another way. It helps companies to keep their carbon footprint low. Whilst consumers are still buying mainly on price how environmentally friendly a product is, is increasingly important. Those firms that work out of well-insulated business premises benefit from being more marketable as well as from a reduction in their overheads.
New Insulated Roofing Materials Being Developed
This rise in interest has lead to many of the UK’s roofing manufacturers making some changes. Many are in the process of developing new, better-insulated roofing materials to meet this new demand. They are marketing their existing insulated products more effectively, making it easier for builders to find the best roofing materials for the job.
Roofing suppliers, Foregale, have been manufacturing and selling roofing materials for over 25 years. Over that time, they have seen demand for roofing materials evolve and change, but they expect demand for insulated roofing materials to remain strong well into the future.
