Neston, UK (19th March, 2013) – Public speaking tops the league again as our greatest fear, according to a recent study by the National Institute of Mental Health, with 3 out of every 4 people surveyed (74%) giving public speaking as their greatest fear. This ranks above spiders, the dark, heights, flying and enclosed spaces – which were only feared by around 10% of people.
Public speaking and giving presentations is considered by many leading professionals as a critical skill to get ahead in business and, this week, a new book is being launched by leading presentation coach, Caroline Hopkins, to help people overcome their fear and dislike of presenting and public speaking.
‘Help! I’ve Got A Presentation Coming up’ has been written as ‘the ultimate guide to stress free presenting’. Explaining her motivation to write the book, Caroline Hopkins, commented: “Despite the fear they may face, giving presentations is now part of most people’s working lives. Whether it is to put across your ideas, promote your organization or sell your services to others, we need to be able to stand and deliver our message well to many audiences and in many business situations.
“The problem for many people, though, is that they find presenting very stressful. I have written this book to provide some useful tools to help people give presentations without it being so stressful by showing how, with the right approach, the right attitude and a bit of knowledge, they can master the skills to present with confidence and overcome their fears.”
‘Help! I’ve Got A Presentation Coming Up’ is available online and can be ordered from the Love Presenting website http://www.lovepresenting.com/help_ive_got_a_presentation_book/
