The CQC is the independent regulator of health and adult social care services in England, and only registers dental practices if they meet government standards – any which do not register with them cannot legally provide services. As part of its operations, the CQC inspects dental practices at least once every two years to ensure they maintain the standards outlined by the government. Charisma Dental received a visit from CQC representatives recently, and was thrilled to be granted a pass.
In order to pass a CQC inspection, dental practices need to demonstrate certain qualities and meet various criteria, such as: having a respectful approach to all patients; giving due consideration to all of a patient’s needs before and after treatment; maintaining a safe and clean environment with the required suitable equipment; presenting enough members of staff to meet patients’ needs; ensuring the managers regularly monitor the level of care the practice’s patients receives. Once a CQC inspector is satisfied that a practice is providing the required level of service and professionalism, they will grant them a pass.
