Isle of Man, United Kingdom (12 July, 2011) – The Chalet Experience, an internet-based advertiser of independently-owned ski chalets, apartments and hotels, has commented on widespread rumours that a new ski lift may be built which will link two large resorts for the first time, Grand Massif and Portes du Soleil.
The Chalet Experience has commented on the rumours that there may possibly be a new ski lift installed between the popular ski destinations Les Gets in Portes du Soleil and Grand Massif, which could potentially create a massive ski area due to the Grand Massif being the fourth largest ski area in France, with 265kms of pistes. The Chalet Experience believe that unfortunately, guests would not be able to travel back and forth between the two destinations in a single day even if this new lift was in place. However, they believe it could be a valuable easy access point for weekend skiers who drive from Geneva or other large cities nearby.
A spokesperson for The Chalet Experience commented: “If the rumours are true, a new ski lift between Grand Massif and Les Gets could be extremely beneficial to both resorts, as this would ultimately create a larger ski resort which could become a more appealing tourist attraction to prospective visitors. Many ski resorts which used to stand alone have joined forces with other ski holiday resorts to offer more in terms of skiing and facilities, and this has been proven to attract more customers for many. However, this rumour about the Grand Massif and Portes du Soleil lift has been circulating in one form or another for approximately ten years, so it is unclear whether the plans for a new ski lift will go ahead or not at this stage.”
