Claimsworth Comments as Brain-Damaged Demolition Worker is Awarded Millions

United Kingdom – (30th Jan 2012) – Claimsworth, one of the UK’s leading personal injury solicitors, has commented on a recent case in which a demolition worker, who was left with brain damage following an accident at work, was awarded millions in compensation.

Christopher Kaye, 57, a machine operator from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, has won a multi-million pound settlement, which will see him receive a lump sum of £1.75m, plus annual payments of £135,000 for life, his legal team said.

My Kaye was working on a construction site in Sheffield for a demolition company when he was hit in the face by machinery in October 2008. His employer Euro Dismantling Services has accepted 90% liability. Mr Kaye’s legal team said the damages package was likely to reach £4.2m based on a life expectancy of 20 years.

A spokesperson for Claimsworth commented: “If an injury at work renders you unavailable to work, the law will provide compensation to safeguard your earnings until you are able to work again. In cases such as this, where the injured party is never able to work, payments are secure for the rest of the victim’s life.”
