More Men Are Asking For a Sperm Count Test

England – 20/01/2012Men are more aware than ever that infertility is something that needs early treatment so are overcoming old taboos and actively asking for a sperm count test

Over the past 50 years the level of male infertility has risen sharply across the globe. In most cases, after a sperm count test it is found that the underlying reason for most men’s infertility is a low sperm count.

In Europe, the problem is particularly marked with 1 out of every 5 men aged 18-25 who have been tested turning out to have a low sperm count. Men are becoming more aware of the fact that this is a problem that could affect them, and they are being surprisingly proactive about dealing with this difficult health issue.

The idea that you may be infertile is difficult to handle and is something many people, in particular men, in the past have chosen to not even consider. In the past, this meant that many men point blank refused testing and just hoped for the best. However, attitudes are changing and many men are considering the possibility they are infertile and taking the initiative in an effort to find out if they are.

Availability of a simple home sperm count test

The fact that it is now possible for a man to test his sperm count in the privacy of his own home has helped a great deal. It avoids them having to go to the doctor and broach the subject unnecessarily. In addition, the discomfort of producing a sperm sample in a clinic and handing it to a nurse is also avoided. The testing kits are relatively cheap and extremely easy to use, with instant and easy to read results.

Prevucare have seen demand for their home sperm count test rise steadily over the past few years. Many men are taking the results of their tests to their doctors to help persuade their GPs of the need to carry out further tests to determine their exact sperm count. They are actively facing up to the possibility they are infertile and taking steps to get effective medical treatment as early as possible.
