Bella Mama CEO Kirsten Baxter Undertakes Yorkshire Charity Challenge

Macclesfield, United Kingdom (April 23, 2010) – The CEO of Bella Mama, a leading supplier and distributor of maternity and breastfeeding clothes in the United Kingdom, is taking part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to help raise money for Committed2Breastfeeding, which is part of the MedEquip4Kids charity.

Bella Mama’s creator, Kirsten Baxter, has decided to rise to the demands of the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge which involves a 24-mile walk across the peaks of the three highest points in Yorkshire. The trek will see participants travel across Pen-y-ghent (691m), Whernside (728m), and Ingleborough (723m) in that order, with the total climb approximating 5,200 feet across varying routes and paths.

The event, which is officially titled ‘Breast Foot Forward’, takes place on Saturday May 1st. Kirsten, whose Bella Mama online store provides breastfeeding clothes and maternity wear, feels she has an affinity with Committed2Breastfeeding and is looking forward to the challenge ahead:

“When I heard that MedEquip4Kids were launching a new Charity, Committed2Breastfeeding, I wanted to help raise funds for this fantastic cause. MedEquip4Kids has been funding breastfeeding projects over the last five years providing breast pumps and other associated equipment for use on maternity and neo-natal units across the north of England, and is now getting more requests than ever before for support from community-based infant feeding co-ordinators and midwives,” says Kirsten Baxter, creator of Bella Mama. “This is easily the most challenging thing I have ever done, I have worked hard to improve my fitness for the event! It would be fantastic if people could help me to raise awareness and funds for this great cause. Along with my friend Hayley, I will be digging out my walking boots, strapping on my rucksack and tackling Breast Foot Forward in aid of the Committed2Breastfeeding project!”
