Dive Master Insurance Charitable Donations Reach Over £100,000

Essex, United Kingdom (20th December 2013) – Dive Master Insurance, a leading provider of scuba diving insurance, has announced that the amount of money it has donated to charity has now reached over £100,000.00.

Since its inception in 1987, Dive Master have donated money and resources to a number of different organisations and charities. The company’s various donations have included the British Divers Marine Life Rescue, (BDMLR), and also sponsorship of local Egyptian dive centre employees to train to Divemaster level.

In September 2010 an ex-dive charter boat was sunk to create an artificial reef off the Thai island of Koh Tao, and Dive Master donated money to help make this possible. Artificial reefs are created to improve the diving community and provide a place for marine animals to live.

Dive Master have also supported the work of the DDRC, the Diving Diseases Research Centre, sponsoring their first Diver Medic Book, as well as other publications, including their Survey of Scuba Diving for Disabled Divers. Leybourne Lake in Kent has also been a beneficiary of Dive Master after they donated a camera and underwater housing as a prize for a competition event in aid of Parkinson’s disease.

A spokesperson for Dive Master Insurance commented: “Ever since Dive Master was created in 1987, we have always maintained that an important part of what we do is to give back to the wider diving community. We have supported various charities and organisations over the years through monetary donations as well as donations of equipment and other resources. We’re immensely proud to have donated over £100,000.00 for good causes and look forward to donating more to worthy causes in the future.”
